ReadTracker
Good news for everyone with an Android phone. Today, one of our little side projects called ReadTracker became available in the Android Market. ReadTracker is built using our public API, and lets you share the reading of your physical books to Readmill. We asked Christoffer who developed the app a few questions:

What’s the story behind it?
Well, I started thinking about it a few months ago when I found a book that I really wanted to read, but it was not yet available in ePub format – so I couldn’t read it with Readmill for iPad. And when the Readmill team went to Cannes to hack for a week, I threw together a quick hack inspired by the great ReadMore app for iPhone.
Later, we started noticing that more people were interested in getting their physical books on Readmill, so I continued to work on it some more to get into a state where I could share it with others.
So, why should I use ReadTracker?
If you read a physical book you can now connect it to Readmill and share it with your friends so they can follow your progress. Of course you can also use it with ereading platforms that don’t support Readmill yet.
Where do you see ReadTracker going?
I wanted it to just one thing, really well: let you share your reading on Readmill. So this initial release is concentrated on the bare minimum; connecting a book and updating how far you’ve come. If you want to do more things, you go to the reading page on readmill.com.
Also, it’s a side project (and my first Android app) so I didn’t want to put to much effort into including everything I could think of, and then never get to release it.
That said, I’m very excited to see how people will use this, and definitely consider adding more features if people want it.
